The session closes with a deeply relaxing back massage and a finishing layer of hydration. The treatment is customized to whatever your skin needs in the moment. Common concerns include "bacne" (back acne and breakouts), congestion and clogged pores, dry or rough texture, uneven tone, sun damage, and general dullness. Your esthetician will assess your back at the start of the session and tailor the cleanse, exfoliation, serums, and mask to deliver the most meaningful results for your specific concerns.
A traditional facial focuses on the skin of the face, neck, and décolleté. The Custom Back Facial brings the same level of expertise, products, and technique to the skin of the back, an area that has its own unique needs. The skin of the back has more oil glands and is more prone to congestion than the face, so the techniques and product choices are adapted accordingly. Many guests book both a Custom Facial and a Custom Back Facial during the same visit for a head-to-shoulders skincare experience.
Possibly, depending on what your skin needs. The back is a common area for clogged pores and breakouts, so gentle, careful extractions are often included when appropriate. Your esthetician will assess your skin during the cleanse and recommend extractions only if they will benefit you. Extractions are entirely optional, and we will never push you into something you are not comfortable with.
Yes. Most guests notice immediately clearer, smoother, more even skin after a single Custom Back Facial. For ongoing transformation, particularly for guests addressing recurring breakouts or significant congestion, we recommend a series of treatments spaced two to four weeks apart, followed by monthly maintenance.
The Custom Back Facial is wonderful any time, and it is especially beloved before beach holidays, weddings, summer events, or any occasion where the back will be on display. A modified version is generally safe during pregnancy. Please mention your pregnancy when booking so your esthetician can adjust the active ingredients and your positioning to ensure your comfort and safety throughout the session.
Please let us know before booking if you have severe inflammatory acne, open wounds, sunburn, recent cosmetic procedures, or are currently using Accutane (or have used it within the past six months). Your esthetician can adjust the treatment or recommend an alternative if needed.
